Alright everyone. I'm going to try and put you in my shoes as best I can without giving away too many details.
I want you all to imagine pain. The feeling of pain. It's always there. It's been there from the beginning. We all feel pain on different levels pretty well all the time. Sometimes we feel it more than others. Sometimes we really don't feel it at all. It is a part of our lives so often that we associate it with simply "being alive".
Now imagine you met someone who had never felt pain. Not only had they never felt it, but they physically COULD NOT feel pain. You could explain it to them. You could tell them what pain is like to you. You could go through all the scientific data about it and if they were given a biology test on pain, they could probably pass, but no matter what you said, they could never FEEL pain.
I like my pain. It's part of what defines me as a person. And no matter how hard I try, I cannot understand how someone simply couldn't feel it. -
