Standing here
In the middle of this emptiness
Dark clouds forming above me
Reflecting on my life
The choices I have made
And the words I have said
The good and the bad
I remember the lessons I have learned
And the pain that is meant to be forgotten
I think of the decisions that others have made
And how they effected me
I think of all this
As the tears swell in my eyes
Just as the sky opens up
And cries with me
I empty my heart of all the ache
And clear my mind of the bad
I stand there
Letting the rain wash everything away
Leaving only the lessons and the good
Standing in this field of memories
Reflecting on my life
Thanking God I made it this far
Filling my soul with joy
And loving myself for who I have become -
