I thought the same thing when I was younger. I thought that if I would be a good little Catholic and pray and believe in god, then I would know that he would show himself to me. But then, one of my dogs died of old age. I knew that it was his time, so I didn't think much of it because he was pretty old (13). And then another one of my dogs died from cancer (we had to put her down), and I thought that that was a terrible way to die. And then, my other dog died of a skin disease and it was definately not his time to go because he wasn't old. And I thought "if god and Jesus are real, then why would they do this without explanation? Why haven't they shown themselves?" And then, we got three other dogs and one of them had the same markings as the second dog that died, and she kinda acted like her too. So I thought "what if she was reincarnated?" Which led me to Wicca. Scientists believed that there were cells because they knew that they were real.
