Alright.
She could hear the shouting behind her and she pushed herself to run faster. She hadn't been cautious. But she was so hungry. And she hadn't even gotten food in her attempt. And now knights of the king were chasing after her as she raced through the woods. An arrow lodged itself in a tree near her head and she jumped to the side, running off in a different direction. She needed to seperate herself from those knights. -
Faeling leaned on her sword, watching the forest below. She was on a hill were tallgrass grew plentiful, and it was always a lovely sight. She closed her eyes, the wind sweeping around her. It was only fair she never got used to it. As a sworn guard, she never really had time to enjoy much. No friends except for the Queen. It was lonely...but acceptable.
-
Then Magenta stopped. She was going to try it. She was going to tell the knights to stop chasing her. She turned and saw the first knight. "Stop!" she shouted, her voice strong. The man froze in place, and she suspected the other knights did as well since she didn't hear footfalls anymore. "Forget about me. Forget you ever saw me and go back to the kingdom. And never step foot into this forest again." her voice echoed slightly in the forest. The man had a lank stare on his face as he turned around and went in the direction he had just came. She went to see if the others followed and they did, surprisingly. She smiled mischievously.
-
Faeling looked at the grass, thinking for a few moments. She wondered how it grew so tall and why no one cared. I take that back. The queen knows animals eat the grass, so it loses some tallness every so often....plus no one really ever cares about nature. It's all on wars. Her lips turned into a scowl as she thought about what the war really was about. "Monsters. Bleh. It's all over monsters..." Faeling stared into the forest. Her thoughts began to wander.
-
Magenta began walking again, her stomach growling loudly. A brightly blue colored bunny hopped out of the bushes. She smiled and leaped over, catching the bunny in her hands. "You'll make a nice meal, won't you?" she said to the monster in her hands.
-
Finally Faeling marched towards the trees. She wanted to see if she could find anything. Besides, she had nothing better to do. Why not waste her time in the woods? Faeling sniffed the air. She couldn't smell anything but pine. She tripped over a twig in the process, cursing.
-
Magenta looked up, her eyes narrowing, when she heard the voice. She had already broke the rabbit's neck, and was preparing to skin and gut it now. But she climbed up into a tree so she wasn't spotted.
-
Faeling got up. She was irritated. Her sword was lodged in the ground. She yanked hard. It wouldn't budge. With another curse, she kicked at it, unlodging it and sending it flying through the air into a tree. Faeling's face brightened as she stormed over to the tree. She was not very happy to find it stuck again, now in the tree.
-
Magenta jumped, nearly falling out of the tree when a sword was lodged inside of it. Curious, she looked down to see a girl trying to retrieve the sword.
-
Faeling closed her eyes and thought, replaying the scene in her mind. She spun around and saw mud. Scooping a little up, she smeared it on the tree and the blade. The mud slowly sweeped into the tree. Faeling sighed and was able to pull it out.
-
"Nice sword you got there," Magenta said down to the girl there.
-
Faeling looked up, startled. "I suppose...when I'm not busy having to think about saving it." she frowned as she spoke, glancing down at her sword.
-
"Swords are alright and all, but I like axes," she said, a mischievous tone in her voice. She jumped down from the tree, holding the skinned rabbit in her hand.
-
Faeling tilted her head, dusting herself off. "Axes are fun. I can't use them well without one of the knights helping me...even then I always manage to hurt myself with them. I'm glad you can use them." Faeling took in the girl's Apperance, and then the rabbit.
-
"Wait, you're one of the knights?" she asked.
