I'm not kidding you guys, I'm tired of this whole gay rights s---. It's gonna happen. Why are we pushing away from it? It's inevitable, like the problem about slavery almost 200 years ago. And yet, despite knowing this going to happen at one point, it still seems like a really taboo topic among the politicians of this country.
You know how the majority of people here call Mexico a third world country? Well, sometimes I really do think that we think better than this 'first world' country does. Mexico was built upon Roman Catholic beliefs and we are still able to say "Well, the Bible never really said anything about that, and some people don't even practice a religion." The last three presidents have all said that the people should be able to live the way they want and pursue their happiness in ways they want, as long as it is legal. Same-sex marriage was legalized in the capital in 2009, and currently from what I understand it's legalized in the entire country. Some people don't like it, but they understand that it was going to happen.
Here? Well, this country wasn't built on Christian beliefs, and that is all we're seeing. Have you noticed that at least half of the protests are people saying something about Got hating/burning/killing 'faggots'? Yeah, that's reasonable you guys. Put religion where it shouldn't even be in. This country is focused on freedom and rights for all its citizens, so what happens when they can't even grant that or promise it to the people who don't apply to the heterosexual group? I dunno, this country works differently than my own so it's hard to explain these things, but basically people are acting so immaturely and hypocritically to this dilemma that finally it's almost disgusting to see this happening.
Really. If this s--- doesn't seem like it's getting solved soon enough and if Momoko and I do end up working out in the end, we're going to have to go to Mexico to get married. There's no f---ing way that I'm going to wait for everyone here to grow up and learn. Everyone in the 'third world' country has learned to accept it so there's pretty much no excuse. -
I agree. When I express my political beliefs (even outside the economic), I get called a Communist. Maybe I'm a Communist. But I'd much rather be a Communist than a moron.
-
YES.
The people are so indulged in this thing called 'freedom' that if they see any little thing that may threaten even a small portion of it, they go wild and call the 'offender' a Communist. Sometimes restricting freedom is the only way to go.
Then it's interesting, how Americans think like that and yet some of them want to deny freedoms for other groups and citizens in their own country. -
In theory, Communism is great, everything is equal. Everyone makes the same despite their occupation, everyone has access to the same things. But in reality, it only sucks because its government controlled, and people in power take advantage of that like greedy b------s.
-
"I support gay marriage"
Communist!
"I support women's rights"
Communist!!!
"I support getting rid of 'capitalism', the private ownership of property, class system, and wage slavery. Instead, we should have the means of production owned by the workers and wealth spread equally"
Commu---wait, what?
"I don't like Honey Boo Boo"
OMG FUCKING COMMUNIST RGHFGHRFGHRFIGGLE. -
If this continent was a sandwich, America would be the homophobic peanut butter and jelly between two pieces of bread that allow gay marriage. 2/3 of this sandwich let everyone get married. That PB&J should follow the bread and start letting whatever peanuts marry whatever grapes and so on.
-
What they forget is that having a totalitarian party in power is basically what they were trying to get rid of, just not with money. XP
-
I wouldn't be offended if I were called a communist. Any intelligent economics teacher could tell you what I just said.
-
Me either.
-
But, Selena, PBJ is my fave homo Homestuck OTP... D:
-
@Mo That's the big problem too, that the government is a big greedy-ass so people would never trust them to do that. Then as I said before, everyone is so fixed on freedom and s--- that they don't even realize what's truly good for them.
@Appay it's cuz your a part of da illuminati yo -
TURKEY AND CHEESE THEN.
-
That's Tavros x Gamzee, right?
-
I love that metaphor Selena.
-
