Her fingers closed up gently around the human's hand. She wasn't as afraid of the individual as before, but rather what was going to happen.

This made the doctor smile more. She took what was on her glove and scraped it into a bowl.

Soren looked down at her hand, seeing the IV in her wrist. She began to fidget with the tape.
(Bye.) -

She firmly, but gently laid a finger down on the tape. It would stay there.

Soren frowned. "Why?" she muttered, finally applying the basic English she knew.

She looked at the girl, surprised. "You can speak English?"

"I understand most, and speak some." Her tail flicked lazily.

She tried not to act shocked. "Did you know English before you came here?"

"We... we... we got a human. He taught us. We got him a few years back." She was having difficulty with it, but managed.

Be now, the doctor was continuing the examination. "Really? Who?"

"I do not know. I was not... teached by him." She frowned.

She nodded. "I see. Well you're learning it very well." She didn't want to hurt the girl, but the examination had to continue, to make sure there were no toxins in the girl's skin.

She smiled faintly, then winced, emitting a squeak full of pain. Why was this painful?

She frowned. "I'm sorry. I'm just making sure that there's nothing deadly to humans in your skin. We're a very weak race."
