Appearance shouldn't really matter in a relationship. Sometimes people go to the Internet as a way to escape reality, to get away from the people they "know". They talk to others and learn about each other, their lives, and their problems. Through that they can like or even love others they meet. You never know. Just because it's the Internet doesn't mean special things can't happen. If people judged purely by appearance then you could look at your soulmate and never have that happy ending because either you were too unattractive or you saw them as such.
