Then as he continued driving, that unusual feeling only became stronger. Finally he parked beside the sidewalk, and rushed out of the car. His mind was in a haze as he approached a particular house. It one he had not visited in years.
He could not bring himself to get to the door, but he did mustard up his strength to call only one name. "Mittaro..!"
It has been years. Things could have changed. Perhaps he was finally home again, and the nightmare was over. But there was no response.
Dodo then realized he still lived in the nightmare where his losses were primarily blamed on himself. This loss was no different. It happened because of plain greed and carelessness. He felt his throat become tight, and the cries come on. But before he could cry, suddenly he snapped out of his trance.
He couldn't remember why exactly he was waiting for, or why he was there. All he felt was a small pain in his chest, and his head. He took a look at the house again, not sure of why he was even there.
Finally, he walked back to his car, got in, and drove away. He still felt the faint pain, and couldn't identify on the cause of it.
And his life went on.
