"Lyla!!" My mother called from downstairs. "The cars ready! Are you coming?"
"Coming, mother!" I yell from my room. I take a quick look around. I was going to camp for the summer. I didn't want to forget anything. 'Let's see...books...notebook for writing...lucky necklace...jacket...luggage...'
"LYLA!!"
I jump at the sudden call for me then run downstairs to the car. -
my dad had dropped me off a muinut ago at some camp dump thing. i kicked a can. "agh! woah bro! dont kick me! that hurts!" i kicked it again. " agh! my label! you kicked my label!"i was pretending that the can was alove. ventriliquisting. i see a girl then come out of her car.
(i acually do tha when bored) -

"Have a great summer sweetheart! I love you!" My mom said driving away.
"Bye mom! I'll miss you!" I watch as she drove out of sight. I sighed, but quickly picked up my red backpack and grey Duffel bag. Lots of kids, ages 12-18, were there already. A few were running around, some were hugging and laughing as if seeing each other for the second time, and some were just loners...like that boy over there. Kicking a can.

"My parents signed me up...I just wanted to read all Summer. But my parents had other plans..." I looked at the shabby cabins, "I cannot stay in one of those." -
"this is my eigth time here. stay with me and youll be fine. besides i have a secret place." "so what you reading?"

"Eight times...Huh? Oh! Just...trying out some new series. My parents think I read to many historical fiction...so I'm starting Percy Jackson. I heard it was a good series..." I paused. Trying to think of another thing to say.

"i like percy jackson. though i reccomend books by katherine lasky or erin hunter. but thats just me." i shrug. "i think i killed that can. its not talking to me." -
I smiled and laughed. He was pretty funny. I guess I made my first friend at camp. (Me: YAHOO! :D)
I looked around. "So...do I have to check in or something?" -
"no. your mom should have done that. anyhow i spend all my money preparing myslef for the summer and well... iv improved my sleeping grounds. wanna see?"
