I have an Alexa and a record player in my room lol, they know I’ll be fine with a break from Spotify, and I work every other day so it’s not a huge deal.

My parents are on it as well, but they both have pretty bad social media addictions from time to time, so they don’t have any of the apps downloaded to try and curb it (except for Twitter for my dad so he can get news updates and insta for my mom so she can update her friends about medical stuff easier)

That’s why I stick to Spotify podcasts for my news, they keep it simple and brief instead of overloading me with news just for the sake of more views. I would recommend the gayish podcast to you for queer news, but it focuses on American issues bc….. America lol -
But usually podcasts keep a system to their politics so their users don’t get so scared that they stop listening. TikTok just overloads you because it means you’ll always be scrolling for more info
