  1. Christofer sighed and startled, I turned around to find Alex there. "Oh, was I interrupting something?" His expression was stone cold, but he didn't necessarily look angry. "Kind of, yeah," I heard Christofer say. Think fast, think fast, think fast. "Um, Christofer was dropping me off because April saw Zac at Mulligans and she ditched me." "Never mind April. I told you to stay away from Christofer." "No Alex, you don't understand! He knows about us. He knows about the UPA, your powers, my non existent powers, and he even has powers! He can defy gravity and he can block off mind readers. Actually, he saved my life again tonight, right Christofer?" He nodded at Alex. I don't know what that meant; sort of guy code? "She's telling the truth. She even said we'd make good friend if we ever hung out. So how about it, Alex? Friends?" Christofer held out his hand for Alex to shake, but he made no movement at all. Christofer put his hand down as Auntie Lisa came. "Ooh, hi! Did you know my niece is single?"
  2. There was a hint of a smile on Christofer's face but it was gone in a matter of seconds. "Okay, well I'm going back to the living room," Auntie Lisa said, scurrying along. "I might as well go too. Thanks, Christofer," I said, stepping inside the house, but still facing him. "Any time." He turned around but then turned back, grabbed me by my hand and pulled me in a kiss—right in front of Alex. His lips were so soft, I couldn't resist but kiss back. I actually think I bit his lip a little. He kissed my top lip before breaking away and smiled. I smiled too, but it was unsteady because of poor Alex there standing in the door way. Well, at least I think he was still there. "I better go," Christofer said with a kiss on my forehead. I watched him ride away in his car until I couldn't see him anymore. Completely flushed in red, but preparing to face the wrath of Alex, I turned around to face the doorway, only to find myself face to face with the door. Yeah, he locked me out while I was kissing Christofer. I don't blame him. I probably would've done the same thing if it were him and Natalie. I rang the doorbell twice before Auntie Lisa opened it for me. "Sweet, he doesn't look like an April to me." I ignored her comment and went upstairs.
  3. I stood there in front of Alex's door. I decided to just sit there and stare at it. After about 15 minutes of silent door staring, the door swung open and there stood Alex. He helped me to my feet and asked, "Why were you sitting there staring at my door?" "I don't know." "Do you wanna come in?" I nodded and sat down on Alex's bed. "Christofer's not as bad as you think he is, you know. I don't understand why you're making such a big deal out of it." Alex sat down on the bed next to me and sighed. "I don't think he's necessarily bad. I just don't trust Astrobits. There's a difference." I got to feet, anger rising in me. "Alex, just because he's an Astrobit doesn't mean he's bad!" Alex's jaw flexed, but he didn't move. "You don't understand." I sagged my shoulders. "What don't I understand? You don't know Christofer—" "And you do!?" He snapped, cutting me off. "Dammit, Misty!" I was about to retort when I realized he called me Misty.
  4. Alex's eyes widened when he realized his mistake. He sat down on his bed and covered his face with his hands. "Alex, who's Misty?" I asked in a more gentler voice. "She's no one. Just go." I stood there for a few more seconds, and then left, closing the door behind me. I felt guilty, but I felt like I did the right thing defending Christofer. This feeling sucks. I went into my room and slammed the door shut. I fell back against the door, hugging my knees. I ran everything that's happened today back in my head starting with waking up, math, Zac in P.E, and then ending it off with my little date with Christofer and how he kissed me. I could still feel his lips pressed against mine; warm and soft and tingly. I could still feel his fingers around my belt loops of my jeans and slowly pulling me closer to him. I could hear him telling me I smell like pineapples. And then there's Alex. I don't know what's up with Christofer and Alex, but this is another mystery I'm going to have to solve. Last time I checked, this wasn't Twilight, and it's seriously starting to feel like it with these two.
  5. I changed into my pajamas, brushed my teeth, and went to bed peacefully and soundlessly. I woke up on an early Thursday and did what I usually do. I ate breakfast, got in the car, and entered the school gates. Alex and I haven't talked at all and it's slowly killing me inside. I wanted to be alone. I let Alex sit down with Nick or whoever and just sat down in a random spot. I looked like a miserable potato who's about to get mashed. I was tired, sad, happy, chill, and mad at the exact same time. Let's just say today, I'm an emotional wreckage. Bigger than Titanic. "Hey," I heard someone say. Instantly my mood picked up and without even looking I knew it was Sam.
  6. "Oh, hey. What's up?" I asked, forcing a smile. He took a seat next to me and said, "You look sad. What's wrong?" I propped my chin up with my hand and shrugged. "Nothing, I'm fine." Sam frowned and took my hand away from my face. "No, you're not. You can tell me, you know." If it were anyone else that did this, I'd completely shut down and tell them to go away. But it's different with Sam. He talks to me like you can talk to him about anything in the world and he won't judge you for it. It's like he gets you to tell him what's wrong, but he never crosses the line. So I told him. Not exactly the whole story, but how I was so confused and how my mind is slowly consuming my body and thoughts in all of these emotions that I can't seem to control. I've never told anyone any of this, except this guy. This guy that I had only know for a couple of days, now holds my feelings in his hand I'm okay with it.
  7. "I don't know why you feel this way, but I want you to know that you're an amazing girl, and you deserve to be happy. I know life sucks sometimes, but I believe these things happen for a reason. Every hope you got up that got crushed, every birthday wish that didn't come true, every promise that got broken, it will all be worth it in the end. Happiness is an adventure, not a destination." It's official. Sam Mitchell is a god. Tears welled up in my eyes. I've never had such a deep conversation in my life. But instead of crying, I actually started laughing. Sam tilted my chin up to look at him and he smiled. I poked him in his dimple and said, "I think it's time for a commercial break." "I should be a poet. That was really deep." I nodded in agreement with a grin and then the bell rang. He hugged me before he left and I hugged him back. I felt like my mind has been cleansed from all mental intoxication. All the feelings I kept bottled up inside were finally out and free. I felt like a happier person. So where to next on this fine Thursday? Biology with Alex. Touche.
  8. I walked really slow. I thought I was going to be late to class. I tried not making eye contact with Alex, but I could feel his eyes slicing into me. I sat in my seat next to him and took out my pencil. Mr. Irvine was talking the respiratory system, I think. I was half paying attention and half in La La Land. I heard Alex say my name; well, more than ask. I looked at him and gave him my evil eye. "Mr. Irvine called on you." Crap. I turned my attention to Mr. Irvine and saw that the whole class was staring at me. "Miss _______, what was I talking about?" You're the teacher, why are you asking me. "Um, the respiratory system?" Mr. Irvine nodded and then continued talking. Would you like some fries with that burn? Snap. "Nice," Alex said with a small smile. "Sure, I replied. I decided I would give Alex the almost silent treatment. I'm kind of one to hold a grudge on someone. "I talked to Christofer this morning." This caught my attention. "And?" "And he told me about the guy in the car and how he got there right on time or else you might have died. And he told me about Mulligans." "So...?" "So, I'm sorry. Like you said, I guess I assume too much and I pointed my finger at the wrong person. Not all Astrobits are...ignorant people."
  9. I smiled to myself. I guess I'll soak up this moment while it lasts. "So are you saying you were wrong and I was right?" Alex smiled a little. "yes, I'm saying I was a jerk and you are the savior of my livelihood." I suppressed a laugh. I hesitated before asking, but I wanted to know. "Who's Misty?" Alex tensed up when I said her name. "I'm not comfortable talking about it with you. Sorry." He had a certain sadness in his voice. I didn't press any further and changed the subject. "So what did he exactly tell you about Mulligans?" "He told me you fell out of the boat," Alex replied with a shaky laugh. "I could seriously just picture that kid running into you and then you spazzing out and falling over."
  10. I giggled. "It was even funnier when I turned around and found myself locked out of my house." Alex's jaw flexed and then he said, "Well I wasn't just going to stand there and watch you two kiss each other." "Are you saying you don't care?" Alex locked his eyes with mine. "I don't care about a lot of things, but I care about you. Yeah, it hurt seeing you kissing him, but I had my chances and I didn't take them." Yeah, so did I. "So um, when are we going to start planning your...date." Alex grinned. "After Nick's party will be perfect." The period passed and I went to break along with everybody else. I got some chips and sat down at a table alone. Crap, I thought, I forgot a drink. I looked at the line and it was humongous. I sighed and figured a drink could wait until lunch. I finished my chips and sat back down at the table after throwing the bag away. I fished my iPod out of my bag and stuck the ear buds in. Yeah, I know you might get in trouble for it, but I'd rather have music keep me company than anyone else right now. I scrolled through my songs and clicked on Fever Dream by Iron & Wine. (You guys seriously need to listen to that, it's amazing) I felt like taking a nap. I saw a counselor squinting at me so I quickly shoved my iPod back in my bag like a ninja. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I jumped because I thought I was busted.
  11. "Whoa there, don't hurt yourself," April said with a smile as she sat down across from me. "Sorry, I was listening to my iPod and I thought you were an aid," I replied with a a laugh. "No worries. So did you see Mr. Irvine's ugly tattoo?" My stomach flipped. "He has a tattoo? Where? I didn't see it." April made a face. "It's on his wrist and it's like a tiger's face. Okay it's not ugly, but it's ugly on him." It couldn't be...
