Are You Creative?

How creative are you? The following quiz helps you determine if you have the personality traits, attitudes, values, motivations, and interests that characterize creativity. It is based on several years' study of attributes possessed by men and women in a variety of fields and occupations who think and act creatively.

Are you a creative problem-solver? Do you typically approach a problem from many perspectives or opt for the same old solution that worked in the past? In his work on human motivation, Robert E. Franken states that in order to be creative, you need to be able to view things from different perspectives. Creativity is linked to fundamental qualities of thinking, such as flexibility and tolerance of ambiguity.

  1. If you have a problem, you usually end up solving it through inspiration.
  2. Your tastes in music, art, film, and food are varied - and often surprising to others.
  3. You are into experimenting with all aspects of your life. If something doesn't work out, you've still learned something.
  4. You daydream about stories you could put into a novel or screenplay.
  5. You're the type of person who just naturally likes to break the rules.
  6. Most people suffer from taking life way too seriously.
  7. As for what other people think of you, you honestly don't give it a lot of thought.
  8. When you're working on a project, you're open to input from anyone.
  9. You like to learn new skills. You learn at least a couple each year.
  10. If you stumble across an unusual sounding word you don't know, you are excited to look it up.
