Sand is my made-up SandWing. She grows up with a scavenger named Asha, and they live alone until they meet Wren and Sky. Sand's egg was laid in snow by one of Blaze's soldiers.
Sand kept generating heat to keep herself warm, but when she hatched, she couldn't generate any more body heat. And since her egg was laid in the Ice Kingdom, she could not breathe any fire.
