What is the single greatest priority of the United States today?
- The continued improvement of technology, industry, and science.
- What else? Abolishing slavery!
- Acquiring new lands for Americans to settle.
- Aiding the common, working man.
- Ridding this nation of Masons.

- Sounds exactly like the kind of cabal of thieves a career politician like Clay would come up with.
- There are aspects of it that could be beneficial.

- Leave it be! We aren't a conquering empire.
- As the most enlightened nation in the world, we could certainly make better use of it than the present occupants. But we need not be barbarians - diplomacy and economic incentives will do the job.

Industrialization has caused vast changes in the United States. How do you feel about these changes?
- Industry has allowed for a great improvement of humanity, and should be promoted to go further.
- Industry holds great promise, but also great peril for the working man if not minded carefully.
- Industry is a perversion of what a man ought to pursue, a steady honest life on his own land.
What is your position on slavery?
- It must be preserved and defended from the vicious assault against it.
- It can be tolerated for a time, provided it is confined to where it exists currently.
- Abolish it. Not later - now!
