i was thinking maybe the two of them could both be after a specific artifact, one with powers that could help them/their pack. so separately they arrive to this domain/dungeon type place, run into each other, and are forced to fight monsters & solve puzzles to get out
then they could fight over the artifact at the end. maybe it wasn't successful and neither of them could retrieve it, or they do get it together but they both want it, and/or it could be destroyed in their struggle/competition with each other
