Tegan stared back at her, thinking. Still unsure if she could or should trust the stranger or not, time was slipping by. As more went by, her chances were likely doing the same down that slope.
"Yet you want to help me?" She said curious about. She shook her head gently, she had to make up her mind whether to or not. "Let's say I do believe you want to help me, how are we getting out unnoticed if the place is surrounded?" She questioned. -
Athena thought for a moment, knowing that her answer wasn't going to be the best. She put the knife she had back into the sheath, and held it in her hand. "I can't guarantee that we will get out of here alive. I will do my best, but the chances are slim." She stood up straight, and adjusted the straps of the back-pack on her shoulders. "I know for a fact that there's another scavenger that headed the opposite direction I did. He is supposed to meet some others at a check-point on that side. I am supposed to the same, but for this side." She looked at the woman standing in front of her, and continued to speak. "There are check-points that have been placed around the city in intervals. Each of them are patrolled, and manned with gun power."
"The easiest way out, would be to sneak past one of those check-points. The only hard part would be making sure we didn't get spotted once we made it past the check-point." Once they got past the check-points, it was nothing but high-ways, and interstate roads. If they were lucky, there would be a rouge car or two they could hide behind. Athena looked at the woman once more, knowing their time was waning. "So, whaddya say?" She asks. -
"Whether i go or stay, both seem to be huges risks. Guess you will know the place better than I do though, if you've got checkpoints set up or whatever." Tegan replied, glancing around occasionally. "So, it's a risk. But better than being on my own and trying to get out I suppose."

Athena took her bag off her shoulders and took out two bottles of water. "I always carry extra, just in case. I have two more in my bag if we need them." She handed Tegan one of the bottles, and then opened hers and drank about half. She had some food on her, but she wanted to be careful with it, just in case they weren't able to find anything further into their journey. She put her half-empty bottle of water into her bag and pulled out her pistol. She placed the pistol in the holster that was on her belt along with the dagger she had. The last thing she wanted to do was walk unprepared into a group full of scavengers.
Once she had some water she placed the bag up on her shoulders. She walked back toward the road, this time keeping under the shadows of the buildings. If they kept going straight, they should reach her check-point before dusk. This was the part she was concerned about, and trying to formulate a plan. "So," Athena said, trying to start a conversation. "tell me about yourself."
