"hmm" Finn kicked the dirt a little. "Do you want to look around...?"

"sure. I might as well show ya around." Alexander said, opening his eyes somberly.

Finn walked down the road and looked around the ruined buildings in awe. "so this is where you lived huh?"

"yeah, and it looked a whole lot nicer when I ran these streets. You see that tiny little house right there? The one with the green door? It actually used to have a mural on the front. The paint chipped away, but it was a portrait of me." Alexander said

"huh, that's interesting." Finn said genuinely, touching their chin.

"yeah? Ya see that empty lot up there? That was actually a market. All the stalls seem to be long gone but I remember helping old man Ichabod sell fish by the Ruby house." Alexander recalled

"Dang." Finn said, awestruck but also a little anxious this was how his life would be seen by other people when he was long gone.

"the sandstorms demolished most of the booths, but I vaguely remember where each one was. We had a fruit stand that charged an arm and a leg for exotic fruits like strawberries." Alexander said

"oh wow." Finn said. "y'know, strawberries aren't as exotic anymore. they're like, 3 dollars a pound at the grocery store?"

"in this weather? How do you get them to grow in the sand?" Alexander asked. He remembered his brother loving strawberries, he then remembered his brother couldn't eat the strawberries and felt a little bit sad

Finn laughed a little. "They get imported from china sometimes, and they're also grown in America. we can have any food, any season, now that I think about it."

"does this look like America? We're not even on the same continent right now. Your home was way too... Green to be desmoda." Alexander said. He reached down from the book and filled his hand with sand which sifted seemlessly away from his hand

"yeah. makes sense. I guess it kind of insane how much things might have been different from them to now.. I wouldn't really know though. only thing I know about is like.. George washington?"

"who's that?" Alexander asked. He was not familiar with u.s presidents.

"oh! he's just some old guy from like, the start of america, I think. he's on the one dollar bill in America." Finn said.
