Mahina giggled. ‘I’m just kidding.’ She grinned ominously, just to freak him out. ‘Or am I?’

"No curses!" Ernie scooted away a bit. "No. Curses."

Mahina pouted. ‘Fiiiine.’

"Practice it on one of the jerk townspeople or something." Ernest shrugged, scooting back to his original spot.

‘I’d probably get arrested or something,’ Mahina chuckled.

"Threaten to curse them all if they arrest you." Ernie chuckled. "It definitely wouldn't work, but then you'd get your practice in cursing people at least."

Mahina chuckled. ‘That’s not worth it,’ she giggled.

Ernest shrugged. "I've seen some pretty good curses on the townspeople before. If you ever change your mind, I've got some good suggestions."

Mahina rolled her eyes. ‘Yeah, yeah,’ she said, giggling.

"I'm serious!" Ernie laughed.

‘What do you mean, you’ve ‘seen curses’?’

"I've seen a couple public witch trials." Ernest said with a grimace.

Mahina pursed her lips. ‘What were they like?’

"Absurd. And biased. And traumatizing." Ernie shuddered slightly.
