care_bear19 Novice"Just stay with me then" Riey said. He shrugged slightly. He didn't want Gunner staying somewhere unsafe, although he thought anywhere with Gunner probably wasn't safe. He smiled at the ironic thought. "It's not a big deal" he continued. He thought maybe Gunner would refuse, letting his pride get in the way, but Riley wasn't offering out of pity, he just would safer with Gunner here. Another ironic thought. Plus, because Gunner spared his life all of Riley's enemies would now be coming after him.

"Fine." In a way, the request made Gunner happy. "I'll probably be up for a while though.." He stated. He turned back and leaned against the window. He was postured, controlled and relaxed. This was how Gunner often was. He was usually seen as cool and controlled. On the inside, though, his mind could be freaking out, going a billion different ways. But right now, he was relaxed. He felt as if he could be open around Riley. Which was odd, considering he was a target he was supposed to hit. Also, they had only known each other for an hour or two. But even so, he himself couldn't deny the connection they already had.

care_bear19 Novice"Alright, well I have some work to do and then I'm gonna head to sleep" Riley said. He was happy Gunner was staying with him. There was something about Gunner that made him feel safe. His usually, cocky attitude didn't need to be used around Gunner. He could just be him, even though Gunner probably knew more about him then he wanted, he felt he didn't need to hide anything. It was was an unusual feeling, since the two had only known each other for a little while. Riley went over to his luggage and pulled out some blue prints, spreading them out on the table and writing down a few things. He had convinced the Embassador on building a new Orphanage, with better living quarters and playgrounds.

"Alright." Gunner sighed, turning around. He opened the window, leaning over it. He looked out into the city. A cool breeze ruffled his hair. He grinned a little. His bright eyes scanned the sidewalks. It was dark out, but streetlamps illuminating the darkness, giving Gunner a clear look of the streets. Traffic slowly moved along- being loud and obnoxious as usual. 'Ah, the normal city setting.' Gunner thought to himself. He loved the city. The city was the place for Gunner- it and all it's quirks. It's highs and lows, it's rich and poor, it's crime and saints. The city was a place for everyone, he guessed. It wasn't where Gunner was raised, but close to it. After his parents died, he had ran away into the city. He, himself, was put into an orphanage in the city. He disliked all the kids- they bullied and teased him. But he enjoyed the times were he would sneak out and just walk. Just him and his thoughts. Magic.

care_bear19 NoviceRiley watched Gunner out of the corner of his eye and smiled lightly. He went back to his work, but couldn't seem t focus. Talking about his teacher, and his interest in politics brought back bad memories. He couldn't get the image from his mind. The knocked over chair. The lifeless look. The letter on the desk. His hand shook as he wrote down some measurements. His breathing quickened and he broke the pencil. He sat back in the chair as his chest tightened and tried to breathe, but couldn't. The image just kept flashing in his mind. He closed his eyes but it only made it worse, so he quickly opened them again.

"Hey, got any food? I haven't eaten all day." Gunner spun around, shutting the window carelessly. He was quite hungry in fact, his stomach lurched at the thought of food. He put a hand carelessly through his oily brown hair. He realized, as well, he could use a shower as well. Gunner didn't exactly take care of himself the best- he never had the time. He was always on the road anyways, so it didn't really matter. He thought of how he'd probably have to leave the area soon to his next target. Gunner didn't know what he'd do with Riley, he couldn't leave him. Hmm, he thought. He didn't like his options.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley couldn't respond, but surprisingly the sound of Gunner's voice helped his chest loosen some. He had a death grip on the chair's arms and slowly unclamped his hands. His breathing slowed some and he could finally put words into a sentence. "Yeah... C-check the fridge. There should be... something in there. O-or we can order room service" he said, his voice was shakey. He closed his eyes, thankful the images had stopped. And that Gunner was here.
-
"Jeez man, you okay? You're stuttering a bit. Not like there's anything wrong with that. Just..I want to make sure you're okay." Gunner's emotional side, for a moment, showed. The caring compassionate side of him that he hid from society. He decided he could show it around Riley. Why did he trust him? They had known each other for such a little amount of time. It confused him. But he guessed some things just didn't make sense and he would have to accept that.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley took slow breaths. "I am... getting there." he said. His chest wasn't tight anymore and he could finally breathe normally. "I'm alright. But thank you" he said. He ran a hand through his hair and got up to check the fridge, and distract himself. "What are you in the mood for?" he asked, hoping to change the subject. He didn't want to give Gunner his sad story, the reason he hated violence. So he distracted the man with food. His stomach growled a little. He had really eaten much that day either.

YES DISTRACT HIM WITH FOOD LIKE HES A DOG)
Gunner gave a small sigh. "It doesn't matter." He leaned back, putting his hands in his pockets. He breathed deeply, going into a mode of relaxation. He liked to feel safe and relaxed. He hardly felt like that anymore. "Really, I'm down for anything." He stated, passively. Gunner wasn't stressing about anything in particular right now, so he was relatively passive and go-with-the-flow. He sat down on the bed, getting tired of standing for so long. He looked up to Riley, his eyes tired, hungry and full of mixed emotions. -
care_bear19 NovicexD yes.))
"Pizza it is then" Riley said and called down for room service to bring a large pizza. He sat down and sighed heavily. He looked at Gunner, his eyes searching for something lthough he wasn't sure what it was. The room was silent, but not an awkward silence, more of a comfortable nothing-needs-to-be-said kind of silence. Riley was glad. Although he loved his job and he was always around people, he got lonely sometimes. A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. "Room service" a woman called. Riley opened the door and took the pizza, giving the woman a generous tip. He placed it on the table and sat down. -
Gunner skipped over to the table, happy. He really was hungry. "Thank you so much you've been so kind." He praised Riley, giving him an emotional, grateful look. He was glad he finally had some down time- he was always so stressed and serious. He liked it a lot better this way. It felt more comfortable. He knew he should be defensive and careful, but he wasn't. He should be looking around for danger at every corner, but he wasn't. Gunner wasn't particularly sure why, and didn't really care why, either. The present was the only thing that mattered. Not the things that might happen.
-
care_bear19 Novice"No problem but there's no need to thank me. It's just manners, Gunner" Riley said as he opened the box. He gave Gunner a big goofy smile, after seeing how happy he was. "It's just pizza" He got two paper plates out from the tiny kitchen and gave one to Gunner. He picked up a slice and put it on his plate, sitting down and rolling up the blue prints he had worked on earlier and putting them to the side.
-
Gunner took the plate and piled three pieces of pizza on it. He began to gobble it down, throwing any manners aside. At this point, all he really cared about was eating. He was starving. His stomach was ready for food. Gunner laughed a little at himself and his pig-ish-ness. He could be such a slob sometimes. It's not like anyone could do anything about it, anyways. Gunner always had his own way of life. Unorganized, free spirited, messy, slobby. He always had more important things than being organized and cordial. And if he ever came off like that, it was an act for pure business matters.
-
care_bear19 NoviceRiley chuckled lightly at Gunner. "You really were hungry, huh?" he said with a smile. Normally, something like that would weird him out, he had always been a mannered, organized person. But with Gunner, it's was kinda cute. He smiled at him and took a bite of his own slice, savoring the taste. Because he worked such a high positioned job, most of the dinners he ate were gross, rich, fancy, weird things. He had never liked any of that, he loved the simple things, and he was sure that this pizza was the bet thing he'd eaten in weeks.
