"I've always missed you when I have to go to work." He gave Lucifer a sad smile and held his hands, pulling him a bit closer. "I don't like leaving you in this house all by yourself. If something were to happen, I wouldn't be here to stop it."

The younger brother snuggled into his hold, closing his eyes for a moment. "We have neighbors, I can always scream for help if anything happens. I'm sure I'll be able to notify you if I'm put in a hospital or something."

"I would hope so. But anyway, I don't believe anything will happen to you, my precious little brother. I have to go finish getting ready, okay? Start on the chores once you're feeling ready." Phoenix hugged the younger and gave him a gentle kiss to his lips.

(would it be too dramatic if the bullies came to his house to hurt him more)
"Of course. I love you-" He was paused as Phoenix kissed him. Grinning, Lucifer kissed his brother back, warmth taking over his heart. -
(It would be the perfect amount of dramatic)
"Love you, too. Be good while I'm gone." Phoenix gave him one last hug then went to get cleaned up, leaving for work a mere fifteen minutes later. "See you tonight, Lucifer." The older called as he shut the door behind him. -
(When shall this happen, and would you like to be them/one of them?)
Lucifer was ready to jump on the chores as soon as Phoenix left. He had a minor headache and those bruises hurt a bit, but it wasn't anything Advil couldn't fix. -
(Whenever, and do we need to name these little s---s?)
