Oh, I was confused. If you were in my grade, how would you like a guy to ask you too a dance. There's a girl I like but I'm not sure how to tell her.

This will affect your answer. 'I don't know' is alright.

Okay, then. Here we go...

Ask what she's doing that night, and if she's not doing anything, say something like "Well, would you/do you want to go to (the dance) with me?' Something of the sort.

That's the standard way. I have cute ways, if you want something more unique.
