  I trugged into the house and put on my boots. My mother was helping my sister, Julia put her hair up. I looked at my watch. It was almoet time for the dreaded reaping.

  It was reaping day. It was my sister,Emily, (short for Esmeralda) second year for the reaping and she was terrified. I put on my dirty,brown boots and walked outside.
