  The whole point of the title 'Peppermint' is that life is cool and harsh, like mint. Even after it's long gone, a coldness remains within its place where a splendid treat once lay. I can't describe it without giving away all of the novel. It's more deep than that, though. It has a MAJOR meaning within the book itself.
