I ran into one of my best friends older sisters lol
she didn't recognize me AT ALL -
I was checking out her High School theater program (she goes to a different school) and she found out I go to her brothers school and had the aUdAciTy to go "Oh you're in the theater program there? Do you know my brother?"
dO i kNOw yOuR bROthEr? We've been friends for 8 years dude xD -
it's kinda funny how my school is known for being the theater kid burn out school
all I have to do is tell people I'm exhausted from theater and second guessing whether I want to take it next year and they immediately know what school I'm from LMAO -
We performed Hello Dolly for the teachers today
No one else. Just the teachers, so they can see their students performing without paying money, and so that we can have one last rehearsal before BiG aUdiEnCE but still be in the "ok we're performing lets do this perfectly" mindset -
my stage makeup actually looked so good today
I have my own makeup and hair kit now so I don't have to borrow my moms stuff anymore (I had my own eyeliner before bc sharing eye stuff is gross, but everything else was borrowed from her lol) -
I still have NO CLUE how to put most of the makeup on tho, ty to Dex and Layla for making me look nice
-
Opening night is tonight :D
-
It went really well. All the messups were covered with INCREDIBLE improv, including when Dolly and Horace's table f---ing FELL OFF OF THE PLATFORM. My parents ended up asking me afterwards if that was a part of the show because all the actors in that scene handled it really well
-
Considering the fact that this is the fastest we've ever done a play, and that the opening night is known for being the worst night, I'd say we did a damn good job
-
hah my friend had a performance too but that never happened.
-
I'm just glad that the worst part about the show this year is props and set pieces, because that can be fixed really easy. Bad actors can't be fixed nearly as well lol
-
yeah that's true, as someone who worked behind the scenes on our school play, the props I messed up on were covered very well by the fantastic actors, who made it look like it was just the show lol.
-
Yeah the improv in school plays is surprisingly really good
-
Help I love Taylor
She was watching the play and I walked past her during one of my scenes and I just heard her go "Oh my god Lucas looks HOT" and my family was sitting in front of her so then I saw my dad turn around and give her the BIGGEST SIDE EYE EVER -
Future lucas I'm writing this on here so you don't forget:
Tomorrow tell the other cast mates about the idea to get bouquets of flowers on the last day, and when your final bow happens, have Dolly take your theater teacher up to the stage and have the other actors grab the bouquets and hand them to her, as a celebration for her 30th year directing the school musical
