I don't think they're overprotective (well my mom isn't but my dad is) technically its because of what is wrong with the world and the fact that we don't show them we are responsible enough to handle the responsibility of freedom because with more freedom comes with more responsibility.

You're right Carrie, the world is a sick place to live in. And I totally understand why they're protective. Also most teenagers aren't mature so there is totally legitiment reasom for them to be protective.
