We had play scales in front of the class one-by-one. The band teacher called on Jailonnie. He wouldn't play, so she did this motion signal which means he needs to play. He played C. The teacher said Stop. Jailonnie, did you fart in your trumpet? She wasn't kidding at all. The entire class was laughing. Camryn and Quinton were still laughing after the rest of the class was done, so the teacher told them to stand outside so Jailonnie can finish his scale test. It's literally three measures. It's not long or hard.

Taylor was nervous to do the scale test. Taylor is first chair and section leader, the best player there.

I'm in the middle of the section. The band teacher seats people based on their playing ability. I find it shocking that I'm in the middle because I'm new. I haven't been playing nearly as long as the other kids have, not even close.

My neighbor just visited because he's moving soon. He pointed at me when I walked into the kitchen to get some water and exclaimed with a huge smile plastered on his face Look at that hair! You cut it all off! People say that all of the time, so I just awkwardly smiled. It was like a half thank you but half half leave me alone facial expression. Now this guy is at least six feet tall, and he's fit. He hugged me really tight and squeezed my arms. I'm really small. It felt like my ribs were being squeezed. Dude, I understand you're just trying to be nice, but please don't touch me without warning.

I awkwardly and somewhat sarcastically laughed after he hugged me, and I slowly stepped away.
