Bruh. I see what you're saying, but it still normalizes rape culture. I understand that you're not saying rape is funny but that's still the message that's portrayed in that. It's like racist jokes in a way, you're not actually laughing at the opression of PoC but it still promotes racism.
It's one of those really subtle things that overall builds up into rape culture. If people can joke about it like it's not a big deal and people do it all the time, it normalizes that mindset and behavior. Like, for example, slut-shaming: you wouldn't think calling a girl a slut as a joke would harm anything but it does. It builds up into sexism.
Another thing, people think they can say mean things to people just because they're "joking" and that's not okay. I have seen way too many people actual cry from something that was supposed to be a "joke." Basically all that means is "I'm just joking--AKA I'm using humor as an excuse or say mean things, but it's okay because I find it funny and I'm going to laugh at it. And if you don't laugh too, then you're uptight. If you cry, you're too sensitive."
I'm not going to stop anyone from joking about what they want to but I just don't understand why you would do that when you can just be a decent human being ? Like, it's not hard to be nice and it's not hard to not offend people. People just love to defend their right to make people uncomfortable and sad and I'm somehow I'm always the bad guy here for not wanting people to be sad?? But ok, as long as I don't see this s--- in my thread I really don't care.
