  Hrrmm...I like the whole solving crimes idea, but we can tweak it. Some more.
  
  Like maybe C1 had a close loved one - brother, mother father, sister, husband, ect. - that was murdered by some notorious serial killer and seeks vengeance and justice for that criminal. He or she is desperate need of help though and looks to unnatural sources for assistance. Which is where C2 comes in.
  
  The question is, what is C2? A demon? An angel? A mortal with a superhuman ability? A monster?
