Introduction
What if the monsters that kids claimed to be hiding under their bed were real?
What if the monsters didn't hide, but showed themselves to the kids, sometimes in broad daylight?
What if the monsters were protecting them from something far worse?
Basic Character Ideas
The idea is that each person would have two characters- one monster and one child. The child can be in any age range that can talk, so I'd say 4+. It doesn't matter how old they get as long as they believe in their monster. However, they do stop believing, and that's after the age of 18+, so there would be an age range for the children. As for the monsters, they're basically humans that had a bad past that have to stick around and help others. Depending on how many children they've watched over and how long they've been around, they'll can look like average humans with long claws or they can be full fledged tall fluffy monsters.
The Plot
The monsters are with their children whom are safely tucked into bed. It's a beautiful night, and they're prepared to defend them. Suddenly, they all vanish, leaving the child scared and unprotected from the worse dangers.
Objective
Each round there will be a different plague for the children to overcome. (Think of Egypt and Moses and that one king with the seven plagues) If a competitor wants to write/make a comic about/revolving around the child, we'll be able to post what the plague is that round (Basically eight rounds in total, the first being the audition rounds and eight being the seventh plague.) and they can write about their child surviving- or dying from shock, their pick.
If they want to write about the monster, the monsters will be busy trying to get out of a dark hell-like place that's full of children's nightmares. They'll go through the plague, but they'll also have a tough objective- beating the boss of the things they've been protecting their child from. They can write/draw a comic about/revolving around the monster's adventures and nightmares come true.
NPCs will have a chance to do the same as competitors on a lower note or be a part of the nightmare (e.x. their monster has joined the dark side) after the audition round ends. I'd say that 10 or so NPCs can be in the dark side, and if this actually gets on air, they'd note that they want to be a part of the nightmares. 10 randomly picked people would join, and we can announce that we won't be accepting those anymore. o^o

Like, I say.. you should make it a bit more interesting I guess.
