Actually, in 10,000 years we will still be sitting pretty here in earth. Sure, by then we will have made colonies on other planets, but we certainly won't be flaring around space. The Enterprise was an aircraft carrier in world war 2, nicknamed the big E, was legendary for getting beat to s--- over and over, but never sinking. The Enterprise is not, and probably never will be a start ship. None of these space shows our movies have much fact to them, and the little booty of fact there is says that we will never just be floating around, we will be on our way to a destination or sitting on a nice solid rock.
