What do Movie Directors do? I'm kinda curious. No one ever told me anything about them besides that they work with actors and producers and stuff like that...

Basically, movie directors decide what scenes work in film, which ones don't, and decide which actors are best suited to character roles in film.

Can movie directors also be like authors. You know....like...they can share their own imaginations without even writing a book or anything?

Yes, I'm pretty sure they can. They might add a song or cut a scene, give a character a certain line they added. Anything, really. As long as the author (if the movie's based off of a book) agrees.
