What do you mean by check braces?

She has braces, so every, oh, three or four weeks we have to have a " Hygiene Check"- if she is brushing the correct way, etc.

I know someone with braces and I've never known them to get a hygiene check before. Sounds interesting.

Eh......not really. They just poke around in the mouth for a few minutes, then say whether it is good or not. But changing the wires is cool.
