For example:
You're texting someone and you say "I have to go to the store" because you're sick of talking to them but don't want to tell them that. But you don't go to the store. You go do something else.
You didn't say "I'm going to the store" you just said you had to. And you did: you have a huge shopping list. But you didn't say you were going. -

It was almost midnight and I really wanted a snack so I snuck down to get one and my mom (she sleeps downstairs) caught me.
Mom: Get back upstairs
Me: But mommy I thought you liked when I was near you
Mom: I'm really tired. Please go to bed.
Me: B-but you said y-you loved me and you liked to be around me. Now you're s-saying you don't want me here.
Mom: Oh, honey. *hugs* Take your snack and go up to bed, okay?
Me: Okay :)
And that's how I got a midnight snack without getting in trouble -

Write "school" on a box and sit in it. The classic. After all, you said you were in school.
Solution 2:
Wait why is he going to your school? Tell him you aren't allowed to have visitors - I'm not sure if you can text him or something but if you can say you're not allowed to have visitors.
This isn't lying because you didn't specify. Maybe you're taking about the hospital after 9 PM. You have to be careful with this one though.
Soultuon 3:
Go get him a small present (even if you dug it up from your closer or something lol it won't matter) and say that you were getting him a present and that's why you didn't go to school. You don't even have to show him the present actually - just say it's for an event.
Be very careful with this one. You can only say "getting" not "buying", because then you would be lying. Also, there must be an event or something that the present is for.
Solution 4:
Tell him you had early release.
You didn't specify when you had early release.
As log as you don't say "I had early release today" -
