Aww that's adorable! It counts that he made a song because he put effort in it to win you over. I love when guys do things like that, though only once has it happened for me.

Well, it's always tricky in those kinds of situations, I would just tell her that you mean no harm to her by going out with him but this was his and your choice. And depending on how forward you are with her (you don't necessarily have to say this but it's the basis line), but she just has to get over it.
