It's a notebook, from the anime with the same name. It can kill people if you write their first and last names, and keep the persons' faces in your mind, but there is a lot more to it.

It normally belongs to a Shinigami (God of Death), and they have to follow the human or whatever that picks up the notebook in their world. I had more than an average Shinigami, though...
