I've been kinda down lately, and there's no place better to vent, than to the random miasma of meaningless names and faces that I have called home for years.
So hello there GTQ. I've been kinda down for a while now. How are you? -
Hello. I have been good. Why do you feel down?
-
GTQ was actually a user. ._.
-
Several reasons. Some personal, some just general. But all in all, April, May, and so far June haven't been very pleasant as a whole.
-
Oh. But I still answered.
-
Yes. Nate. I know he was. But I was referring to the community as a whole.
-
Okay
-
Ah, I see. If you are willing to share, I am willing to listen.

I haven't actually had anything really big or major happen lately. It's just been this steady stream of downers. There's nothing about it that I can work on fixing. And if I just sat there and complained about it, I would seem immature and spoiled.
I have always tried to be a happy and energetic person. I thrive on socializing and spending time with others. But it feels like anymore, that the harder I try to spend time with others, the less interested others seem to be in spending time with me.
For example, I invited 32 people to join me today at the mall. 32 people. I gave them a decent advanced warning, offered to accommodate for people who needed a ride, and did everything in my power to make it easier for people to show up.
I had 4 people actually attend. Some people suddenly had to go to the birthday party of some obscure relative. Others found out about the gathering and then after saying they would go, found reasons not to. I had one person text me from their CELL PHONE, that they couldn't go because they were expecting a call. And that's from the hand full that actually bothered to respond.
I had 4 people show up. I only actually invited one of them. The other three were already hanging out with the one I invited so they tagged along.
This is how trying to spend time with friends has been for me, for the past three months. -
Wow, that does sound rough. The people you invited do seem to not want to hang out with you. My question, is why not? Do they just want to avoid you, do you think? Sorry to pry.
-
It's fine. Don't be sorry.
I live in a spread out area. Until recently, people here were unable to hang out unless they were able to get a ride from a parent. And even though we all have our own modes of transportation now, the mind set of spending all of your time at home and never seeing friends out of school is so in grained in their heads, that it's all but impossible to actually budge them. -
Oh, okay.
Ah. Yeah, I know what that is like. I've become a real shut-in myself for the past two years. It really is impossible to get people like me, them, to hang out with friends.
Oh, yeah, I have not introduced myself to you yet. My name is Micheal. -
I'm James. Nice to meet you.
-
Nice to meet you too, James.
-
So yes, as I was saying it's not just friends that have gotten me down. It's a whole multitude of little things here and there.
