"Greg! Take your sister to her soccer practice!" Mrs. Thomson shouted to her son upstairs. Her fourteen-year-old daughter stood impatiently by the car.
Greg groaned, heading downstairs. "Fine..." He grabbed the keys, heading out to the garage. -
My leg flinched and the butterfly flew away. I stood up and shook off the dirt on my legs and shorts. I ran my hands through my hair. I grabbed my keys off of the ground and sat on the hood of my car.
-
He got in the car, rolling his eyes as his annoying little sister reached for the radio, shrieking when a One Direction song was playing. She sang along loudly, and he tried to ignore it.
-
I hopped off of my car as my mom walked out the front door. "I'm gonn ago to the mall mom," I said. "Okay. Stop by Target and pick up some diapers please!" she said.
I rolled my eyes and got in the car. I pulled out and rode towards Target. I turned up the music and listened to the Band Perrys new song, Done. -
He dropped off the girl, watching her run off to the rest of her team before he drove off. He switched the station, finding The Black Keys playing.
-
I got to Target and picked up some diapers for my baby sister and the headed off to the mall. There was surprisingly not many people there. I parked near the front and walked inside.
-
He really didn't want to go home, where he'd be given a grocery list and told to run errands. Instead he drove over to the the mall. He could find something to do, right?
-
I walked over to the Sonic in the food court and ordered a Blue Ocean Water. They handed It to me and I sat in a chair reading my book.
-
He ordered something for lunch and sat down at one of the food court tables. He was alone, but it was fun to check girls out at the mall.
-
I drop my book and look around. I see a familiar face but cannot seem to figure out where I know him from. I look at my drink and then take a sip.
-
He finished his meal, still glancing around. He vaguely recognized a girl sitting at a table alone with her book and a drink. He walked over, getting rid of the trash from his meal on the way. He sat down at the table, staring at her. He smirked a little. "Okay, call me crazy, I get it a lot, but I swear I know you from somewhere."
-
I looked up at a guy sitting across from me. "You do seem kind of familiar," I say. I look down at my book and slide it into my purse. "Have we met before?" I ask while meeting his gaze.
-
"I don't know if we've formally met... I'm Greg Thomson. You are?"
-
"Emily Greensworth." I smile and look at my phone. It's barely noon.
-
"Greensworth... hmm... Oh yeah, you're my family's neighbor." He smiled.
