I was wondering if anyone had tips on writing music and lyrics. -
it’s a lot of practice mainly, it’s just like any other skill which takes time:))
making music and writing lyrics are two separate skills, but i’d say first and foremost start writing about anything and everything, and THEN study music theory and how certain notes complement each other to create emotions in chords. it’s a boring start since it’s just learning chords and notes but learning the foundations first is so accomplishing because then you’re not having to second guess yourself when you’re 80 and collaborating with ariana grande or something on a world tour and then realize mid-tour “wait, i don’t know music theory, what the heck”
