Most underrated book of the century. Hands-down. Is The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. It's about a group of kids in a dystopian America trying to navigate the side effects of a children's disease that killed a lot of kids. The thing is, they're not normal side effects. The kids who survive... they get powers. Naturally, the government steals them away and puts them in concentration camps, but a girl named Ruby ends up escaping and now has to survive the outside world with a ragtag group of other children while keeping her big secret.

It was made into a decent movie, though! Yet, the movie is also severely underrated and not well-known.

I know another user on here complained about books not having lgbtq characters where the story didn't revolve around them being lgbtq and gods, I have the perfect story for that!

It's a trilogy, and the first book is called Tiny Thieves, and it's by Margaret Owens. The main character is a shifty mastermind thief who has been stealing all her life, when she accidentally slips up and steals from a family with a powerful patron goddess. The goddess curses her that if she doesn't return everything she's stolen, she'll literally be turned into her greed. Meanwhile, a young upstart has also been turned on her tail, so now she has to fix a curse and lead the young insidious coattrack off her tail, while dealing with her godmothers. Except everything is spiraling, and then she's caught in a difficult position. Can she worm her way out of this one?

There is SO much casual lgbtq rep it's insane in those books. And it's not like just gay people, there's trans people, a bit of non-binaries (YAY), a lesbian polyamorous couple, a couple of gay men, and prolly more idk.
