(You will never make me tell!)
Oakstripe: I hear Nighttail say, "Where are you
going?" I turn around, surprised, and respond with, "N-nowhere. Just going out for a walk. Where are you going?"
Nighttail thought for a moment. "i was just going for another stroll too. We could go together." She said. She didn't want to go walk again with her painful legs, but she was curious. And she knew Oakstripe was up to something.
(NEVER! Well, never until I get it finished.)
"Fine." I say to Nighttail, and started to walk with her. I look around, trying to find a distraction. At last I find one. A Squirrel, in some undergrowth nearby, far from safe trees. "I'm gonna try for that squirrel." I whisper to Nighttail, and slowly creep towards the squirrel, and the undergrowth soon hides my fur from view. Now to scare the Squirrel away from Nighttail and towards where Graypaws scent trail was going!
Nighttail waited for a bit and then crouched to where Oakstripe had gone. He wasnMt there. Now she was sure he was up to something! She decided to tell the leader. She looked around to find nettlestar. And so she did. "Nettletar, oakstripe has wandered off without telling us."
Oakstripe: I scare off the squirrel, then head for where I first found Graypaw's scent trail. I faintly hear something moving in the other direction, but pay no attention to it.
Nettlestar: I lay in my den, thinking, when I hear Nighttail say, "Nettlestar, Oakstripe has wandered off without telling us." I turn around, and ask her, "Are you sure? Maybe he just went hunting, or something."
"Not exactly sure, but i have a feeling. And i wanted to go on a stroll with him. But he acted mysterious and ran off again."
(WARNING! Long! WARNING!)
Nettlestar: "Ok." I reply, "I'll go out and check. If I've learned anything, it's to trust your instincts. Would you tell Ravenmoon where I'm going, or have one of the apprentices? He'd go crazy if he wasn't told." I walk out of my den, not waiting for a reply. I had my suspicions on where Oakstripe was going, and if I told the clan, they'd insist on me staying. I shake my head, and quickly run up the secret tunnel. I soon emerge into daylight, and open my mouth to get a better scent. There. I start to walk forward, into a kind of moor, following the scent trail. As I go farther and farther from the tunnels, a forest starts to form around me. Good, I think, now I can go through the trees
Oakstripe: Ok, I think, Ive made it this far. The Thunderpath shouldnt be too far away, not too far. But first, hunt. Stay strong and youll get to Graypaw. Just stay strong, hunt, find him, and bring him back. But first, hunt.
Nettlestar: A while after I started to climb the trees, the scent started to get stronger, and I could see remains of prey below my tree. Hes near I whisper to myself, and drop down. I scan the area, and get lucky. The scent is strong, and I can tell hes close. Ive almost got you. I whisper, and head towards Oakstripe.
Nighttail: Nighttail nodded. Then Nettlestar left off. She walked off to see Ravenmoon. "Hey Ravenmoon!" She said with her hoarse voice. Ravenmoon turned around. "Oh hello Nighttail!" He replied. Trying not to sound sad. "Nettlestar has left off to find Oakstripe." "Huh? But Oakstripe is here, right?" "Not really, he walked off." After a silence Ravenmoon said: "Alright. I don't want to be that deputy that goes nd tries to stop her." Ravenmoon looked up at the sky and wondered what was going on with his friends and son right now.
Ravenmoon: After a while, ravenmoon layed down and fell asleep soon. He had a vision. It was leaffall, and he was in the middle of a flood. But he couldn't tell where he was. He heard cats scream everywhere. He raced off to the sound of squiling kittens. He saw a huge Black cat stand in front of the nursery, holding an unknown kit. He turned around, and then the vision ended. Ravenmoon woke up. He was confused why he would get a vision, and not the medicine cats. He thought about the vision. There was probably going to be some kind of flood in leaffall. Then a thought caused great worry. Crowwing was going to kit soon. Did it mean her kits were in danger? And who was that huge cat. Lots of questions remained bouncing through his head.
wolf_heart NoviceThere is lightning clan at the stage! Please go
Oakstripe: I hear something in the bushes behind me. Too big to be a mouse or squirrel, and too small to be a fox. I quickly scent the area. I yowl out, surprised, "NETTTLESTAR! What are you doing here?!!"
Nettlestar: I sigh and walk out of the bushes."Trying to get you to come back to the clan." I reply.
Both: "Why? Why, Nettlestar, Why? I need to find Graypaw. It's MY fault he was taken, and I have to find him!" "The clan needs all of it's warriors. And, If anyone should go, it should be ME. I know how to get through Twolegplaces, and I know where that kit lives. You'll just get lost or caught. You NEED To go back to the clan, at least for their sake." Oakstripe shakes his head, saying, "No, someone needs to go find Graypaw. I won't let the Twolegs keep him." Nettlestar walks up to him, and brushes her pelt against his, "I'll go, Oakstripe. I'll find him for you. You MUST go back. You could get killed, Oakstripe, and you only have 1 life to loose. I have this life and 8 others. You NEED to go back!" Oakstripe thinks about it, then slowly nods. "I'll go back," he says, "But if you and Graypaw don't come back soon, I'm coming after you."
Ravenmoon: Later Ravenmoon walked around restlessly through the camp. None of the clan cats seemed to notice at the moment. They were very busy hunting, training and the medicine cat was out looking for herbs. He found himself worrying what to do.
Appeentices: Dawnpaw and breezepaw were out hunting. They bumped into each other when they were after the same mouse. They sat down for a while to talk. "Dawnpaw, do you think graypaw will come back... The way he should be.?" Breezepaw meowed. "Of course, the clan is not just letting the twolegs catch them. I'm sure someones on the task right now. Besides, twolegs usually don't bring cats to the cutter anyway." "Hmph, but what if we're dealing with crazy twolegs here?" "Then graypaw will slash their face as they try to get close. You know graypaw, maybe even better then you do." Breezepaw looked down at his paws. "I suppose you are right...
Both: Oakstripe slowly walks back towards the clan, while Nettlestar tries to remember how to find the kit's den. "Right, Left, Straight, No no no, Down the hill, to the right..." She mutters, then starts to head towards the Twolegplace.
Oakstripe: Oakstripe soon enters clan territory, and sets out to find Ravenmoon. He first checked the area above camp, then the camp itself. He soon found Ravenmoon walking around camp restlessly. "Ravenmoon," He started to tell him what had happened outside the territory.
Ravenmoon: He listened to Oakstripe telling the story and stayed quiet for a moment, hesitated. Then he said. "Oakstripe, i need to tell you something." He took Oakstripe outside of the camp. "Listen... I had a dream, and i think it was a message from starclan. I don't know what it meant...There was chaos, a flood... A strange cat attacking kits, they looked small so i suppose it'll be Crowwings kits, in the coming leaf-fall." He looked Oakstripe right in the eyes and waited for a reply.
Oakstripe: Oakstripe thought for a second, then said, "Can you remember what the kits or the strange cat looked like? And I'm not so sure that it was Crowwings kits. If she has them on time, the kits should be good size. Another cat is going to have kits, but she hasn't told anyone except for the Medicine cat and me. She just found out, and, if the kits were small, the timing is right for those to be her kits."
Nettlestar: Nettlestar emerged into the twolegplace. The memories of her as a young kit started to envelope her mind. Chasing beetles in that garden, meeting Harry in that garden... She pushed those memories and thought about how to get to the kit's den from there. "Head right, go straight until the blue den, go right, then you're there..."
Nettlestar soon found the Twoleg's den, and looked up at the sky. "Almost sundown," she whispered, but a voice behind her hissed, "Who are you?!!"
"The big cat was black. The kit looked more black and white."
(Sorry it's so short XC)
