Short Bio: Sakura is a young samurai that was born as a half-blood into the Yamagada Order, a sacred samurai order that gives all loyalties to the shogun and emperor Fishume. When his birth origin was uncovered, Sakura fled the Order, having a bounty on his head for the disgraceful deed. Wounded and beauty breathing, Sakura is rescued by his surrogate mother, Mariko Itchiban, and together, the two join forces to put an end to the corruption of the Yamagada Order.

Short Bio: An orphan girl with a clouded past, Mariko grew up as a miko (shrine maiden). When she was 18, she got married and was expecting a baby boy. When her husband was murdered by his jealous brother, the mother-to-be lost her unborn child, sending her into heartache and bitter seclusion. Meanwhile, her best friend had just given birth to Sakura, but was put to death for breaking the shrine rules in having him. Having gone on a walk, Mariko stumbled upon the newborn Sakura left out in the cold to die. She took him home and cared for him as her own until he was old enough to be with his father, and 16 years later, they meet again...
