Are You a Good Babysitter? A quiz in story form.

One day, you are reading a book when the phone rings. "Hello?" you say. A lady at the other end answers. "Hi," she says. "I've heard about you. Will you mind coming to my house on Saturday from 5-6 pm to babysit? You'll need to make dinner."

"How many kids do you have?" you ask. "I have eight kids. I know that's a lot, but I'll pay you however much you want!" the lady answers. "I have a ten year old girl named Cindy, a nine year old boy named Mark, two seven year old girl twins named Ashly and Ava, a six year old boy named Caleb, a five year old girl named Abby, a three year old boy named Matthew, and a one year old girl named Caroline."

"Will you babysit?" the woman asks? "Well," you say,
- "No, thank you! Well, I guess I could use the money. FINE!"
- "Ugh! Why do the moms with the most kids that pay the least always call me? FINE I'll babysit your kids!"
- "Er, sure! I guess, heh heh."
- "Mmm, maybe? I guess."
- "Sure."
"Great!" the woman says. "I'll expect you at 422 Northwest Way at 4:45 Saturday evening, then! Thank you!" She hangs up as you sigh into the receiver. You are starting to have second thoughts about sitting all of those kids. In the end, you decide:
- To go, grudgingly.
- To go, trying to keep you mind on the money in store for you.
- To go, happily. Or at least TRY to go happily.
You arrive on Saturday at:
- 4:45 on the dot.
- 4:50
- 5:00
- 4:40
The Mom tells you that they can have anything healthy and filling for dinner, and that they usually eat at around five thirty. She says that the kids can't watch TV. Then she leaves. You walk inside, and it is total chaos! Ashly and Ava are fighting over a toy camera, Cindy and Mark are yelling at each other, Caleb, Abby, and Matthew are scribbling all over the table, and Caroline in screaming in her bouncy chair. You:
- Scream, and run out of the house, slamming door behind you and deciding to only go in to make PB&J for dinner.
- Yell at everyone to shut up.
- Figure out why Cindy and Mark are fighting and stop it. Then give Caroline a toy and the twins a coloring sheet to distract them from the toy they both want. Give Caleb, Abby, and Matthew some coloring sheet to color on instead of the table.
- Sink to the ground in despair.
If you chose the gong outside option on the last question, everyone finally calms down and you go inside to a mess.If you chose the yelling at the kids or sinking to the ground in despair option last question, the kids eventually settle down, but the room is a wreck.If you chose the working everything our option on the last question, everything works out quickly, but the room is a mess. You then:
- Pull out you phone and start texting your best friend about how awful this job is.
- Let the kids watch TV.
- Check the time, and see that it's almost time making dinner, then pull our your phone and start taking selfies.
- Clean up the mess a little then start to make dinner.
For dinner you make:
- PB&J sandwiches
- Homemade macaroni and cheese w/veggies
- Quesadillas and cake
After dinner you:
- Check and change Caroline's diaper.
- Check and change Caroline's diaper. Then let the kids watch TV.

- Check and change Caroline's diaper. Set Cindy, Mark, Ashly, Ava, and Caleb up with a board game they all like, put Caroline in her bouncy chair and give her a toy, then give Matthew and Abby some crayons and paper.
Cindy asks you what is in your bag. You tell her,
- "That bag is not mine. It is your mother's. I did not bring a bag. Why should I?"
- "Gum, my phone, my headphones, my snack, and a few more things for me."
- "My phone, coloring sheets, stickers, colored pencils, and a few toys."
The mom is home! She asks you how it was. You tell her,
- "I'm NEVER babysitting for you again! You kids are horrible! They are so naughty! You should send them to a disciplinary camp!"
- "It was ok."
- "It was pretty good!"
The mom asks you how much money you want for the job. You tell her,
- "$100! Your kids were so bad!"
- "$50 should be ok."
- "Eh, I don't know. $20, maybe?"
- "Hmm, $75?"
