Thread Topic: a thread about women
-
You've probably noticed that in our society, the pervasive message is that a woman isn't good for anything unless she is attractive. Think back to the presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Obama. Hillary was probably more qualified than anyone to be president, but everyone complained because they found her personality too abrasive. No one would have said that if she were a man, she was only abrasive because our society expects women to have a soft personality.
But back to my original thought. This particular thought bugs me, but I'm as guilty of it as anyone. I like to think that I appreciate women for qualities other than those that can be photographed, and that I need to be with someone I can appreciate on a personal level. But I also have written girls off because of looks. Every girl I've ever liked would be considered attractive by most guys, but I don't believe they could ever feel the same about me. And then girls don't like for you to stare, but it seems like they've put in so much effort to make you stare. All in all, I'm just really glad I haven't gotten to the point where I hate women as a projection of my own frustration.
