You were killed by King Bradley while going alone out one night, in search of Al. You had just rounded a corner when you saw Envy, and followed him. Stupid you. Anyway, you ended up slaughtered by Wrath, and the last thing you saw was Envy's face.
You were brought back by Hohenheim, and Selim was told to never tell you your past because then you'd probably go insane.
