Thread Topic: Heat wave to Flood.

In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We've had a six day long heat wave, but early this morning, there were tanks of thunder, flashes of lighting, loads of hail, and buckets of rain. I heard it all while playing Modern Warfare 3 when I was supposed to be asleep.
After a while I startet hearing gurgling noises, I thought it was my puppy Charlie who always gets at things thinking he was throwing up. But when I got off the couch and started walking I slipped on a mat thing we keep on the floor of the basement and got all wet. That's when I told my mom the basement was flooding.
After we all got dresses my mom, brother and I went outside to check on the neighbors and the first thing we saw was a pile of pine needles on our front lawn which ment that the water was alot higher. After that we went to check on our first neighbor and they had piles of snow and were dumping buckets of water out.
Later we went to look at 34Ave. The sidewalkes were soaked although they are a good 10m away from the road. When we look out into the intersection we saw policemen in canoes trying to help people out of their vehicles. When we went to check on the apartment basement dwellers, all the apartments were filled about a foot from the roof and we could see a bunch of people who lost everything, staring back at what they used to call home.
When we got back home we heard a catch basin's had popped of because the pressure under it was to high. Then when we got home I click on both of Edmontons news channels, but our area didn't seem to pass for news content.
Now, I hear backstoppers putting water back into catch basins and people crying and screaming and crying. -
When it rain hard or hails here, our roof leaks. It sucks.
