I wasn't upset, though. We had showed up late and wouldn't have gotten any candy.
Anyways, there was this one thing that really shouldn't have been at a Christmas parade. There were these monster-truck-style jacked up cars, and when they got closer my mom held up a cross sign with her fingers and told me that they were hearses. One of them had the word "taken" on the side with blood dripping off of it, and they had the rebel flag on the back of them. I'm not gonna lie, they gave me a really dark, sinking feeling. -
