Thread Topic: Why do people say "non-violence"?

I used to say it because I just thought pacifism was too strong of a word but it's not, why don't people just say that?
My teacher emailed me *falls off bed* -
Pacifism has some connotations with it that some don't want to be associated with.
-
but that's like people saying "Well I'm not a feminist, but I believe in equality"
like what the hell do you think feminism is -

-
I like equality but am not a feminist.
Feminism is not a thing that I wish to believe in. I believe in equal rights, but some feminists make me turn away.
