I'm not quite seeing how that wasn't... Eh.
Even if it isn't sexist, it's still certainly inappropriate. It's objectification, that's for sure, and I've seen this little 'technique' used for various games. Mainly League of Angels and the rest of the MMORPGs (save for World of Warcraft, which this is as far as it's went.).
It's just that I feel a bit uncomfortable when I'm seeing almost-naked females on the side of my screen when I'm trying to play a flash game or such. It's a marketing strategy, yes, but you have to realize most of this is produced by men. If it was produced by women, it wouldn't be near as objectifying or 'sexist'.
That's like me saying my GF should take off all her clothes (save for under-garments) and dance like a stripper on the side of the street to advertise my new bakery shop.
Soz for lack of actual facts and solid logic, but I think I've proven my view-point. -
