Because everyone over analyzing things and it makes me cry.
Okay, so in the main ending for Sweet Pool, Youji basically 'sacrifices' himself for Tetsuo so that Tetsuo may live on.
Tetsuo ending up having hit his head so hard the he got amnesia, so when he woke up in the hospital he only remembered a few things but nothing about Youji. I don't remember where he was going, but I suppose he was moving away from his old town. The thing is that he was on a train. When the train made a stop in where Youji used to live, Tetsuo steps off and starting crying Youji's name, then doesn't remember anything. He just feels some slight, throbbing pain. He steps back on the train and his life continues on.
The very last CG for that ending is Youji at the train stop alone. Of course any normal person would think "Oh, well that's his ghost. It's representing what Tetsuo used to have and lost."
BUT NO, THE FANDOM ALWAYS HAS THAT ONE a--hole THAT MAKES US REEVALUATE EVERYTHING AND CRY AT ALL THE POSSIBILITIES.
Basically they said "What if Youji never did die, but instead also lost his memory? So for some reason, unknown reason like the cause of Tetsuo crying for Youji, he felt the need to go to the train stop but didn't make it in time, so instead that's him there, wondering why the hell he even went to the train stop in the first place? And if they both lost their memory, then maybe one day they could meet up again once Tetsuo has to start school again or visit him mom, and then they fall in love without all the drama of before?
I..
ALL MY TEARS THOUGH. -
