"...And you must not be..." Mittaro's eyes lit up as he watched her stand. He didn't watch her like she was a prize, but more like she was a new friend. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Hein."

"You shouldn't suppose. You should know. I mean, that's what my dad always used to say."

"But sometimes you just don't know."Hien blinked, red eyes bright.

"Well said." Mittaro bent down and picked up Shojo. He didn't know what to say. All of this searching, and now he didn't know what to say. "..What did that to you? Hurt your shoulder?"

"...You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"I believe in everything. I can handle it, Hien. Please tell me."

"Nereids."

"What? We should go after them!"

"They're probably back at the beach by now..it's fine, it was my fault, I guess."

"I don't think getting attacked like that is your fault. Shojo would have stayed away from you if she thought you were a bad person, or if anything was your fault."

"I..I guess." She shrugged, picking up her sword. She stared at the purple gem on the sheath, sighing.

"It's a very pretty sword you have there." Mittaro nodded at her sword, his face showing no true emotion. Shojo meowed and stared at the sword, her tail twitching.

"Thank you..It's name is Exodus." She smiled slightly at the name.

Mittaro noticed the smile and hesitated before speaking again. "Is it named after anything in particular?"
